Introduction to the principle of three bed RTO

Composed of three heat storage chambers, when the three bed RTO is operating normally, the three heat storage chambers are respectively in the exhaust gas preheating stage, flue gas heat release stage, and blowing and flushing stage. Ceramic thermal storage bodies should be divided into three zones, each of which undergoes a sequence of thermal storage, heat release, and cleaning, and works continuously in a cyclic manner. After the "heat release" of the heat storage chamber, an appropriate amount of clean air should be immediately introduced to clean the chamber to ensure the removal rate of VOCs. Only after the cleaning is completed can the "heat storage" program be entered. The oxidation chamber has two functions: one is to ensure that the combustion of exhaust gas can reach the designed oxidation temperature, and the other is to ensure sufficient residence time for VOCs in the exhaust gas to be fully oxidized. During cold start preheating, the furnace temperature is increased through the burner system. During normal operation, most of the heat can be recovered by the thermal storage ceramic bed. When the concentration of combustible components in the exhaust gas is too low, the furnace temperature is raised by combustion auxiliary fuel (diesel or natural gas). When the furnace temperature is too high, the high-temperature exhaust valve controlled by the furnace temperature can release some heat.

Introduction to important components of three bed RTO

-Burner

Burners, also known as combustion engines, can be divided into several types according to fuel, including fuel burners, gas burners, and dual-purpose fuel and gas burners; We prefer well-known brands such as Honeywell, Fast Flame from the UK, North American from North America, and Eclipse from Tianshi; Ensure the reliability and quality stability of product performance; Large adjustment ratio, high temperature control accuracy, energy-saving; Clean combustion with extremely low nitrogen oxides produced; Compliant with European and American safety standards, with high safety.

The burner system is a well-known foreign brand with international FM certification. The burner is a continuous proportional adjustment type (automatically adjusting the gas volume according to the system needs), equipped with a metal safety valve, with a large adjustment ratio, sufficient fuel combustion, and no secondary pollution of NOx and CO. The combustion chamber is equipped with a sight hole (mirror), which is safe, reliable, and has a long service life. The fuel and gas pipelines of the burner system are designed according to European standards, with a dual shut-off valve design and equipped with flame UV detectors and Honeywell controllers.

-Thermal storage ceramics

The equipment uses dense cordierite material as a thermal storage ceramic, which has significant advantages in heat shock resistance and low thermal expansion coefficient compared to ordinary ceramics. It is more suitable for waste gas treatment under heat exchange conditions than materials such as ordinary ceramics. Characteristics of MLM series ceramics:

1. MLM has good anti clogging properties;

2. Multi layer ceramic board module design, with no residual thermal stress in the heat storage ceramic after heating up;

3. The pressure of the airflow passing through the MLM is reduced, which lowers operating costs;

4. Uniform airflow distribution, high turbulence intensity, and high heat transfer efficiency;

5. MLM 90 degree cross installation avoids the problem of pressure drop surge caused by installation misalignment. It has strong adaptability for on-site installation and is easy to maintain.

-Combustion chamber and insulation

According to the "Technical Specification for Industrial Organic Waste Gas Treatment by Thermal Storage Combustion Method" HJ 1093-2020, the thermal storage combustion device should be internally insulated as a whole, and the external surface temperature should not exceed 60 ℃. The combustion chamber shell is made of 6mm Q235B steel plate, reinforced with steel sections. The insulation layer adopts ceramic fiber insulation with a thickness of about 250mm, including two layers of ceramic fiber felt and one layer of ceramic fiber module. The ceramic fiber module is equipped with a heat-resistant steel skeleton, which is fixed to the furnace shell with anchors. The insulation effect at 1260 ℃ is better than that of ordinary aluminum or high-purity fiber cotton.

-Explosion relief plate and pressure relief valve

The explosion-proof and pressure relief design of RTO equipment should comply with the relevant provisions of GB 50160, with bursting discs installed on pipelines and pressure relief valves installed on the top of RTO. The RTO furnace body is generally equipped with a bursting disc device, which is a pressure relief safety device composed of bursting discs and clamps. When the pressure difference on both sides of the bursting disc reaches the predetermined value under the predetermined pressure, the bursting disc immediately acts to release the pressure medium. The type generally uses flat slotted blasting discs. Due to the high problem of furnace body, the blasting disc device is generally made of stainless steel.

-Control electrical cabinet

Adopting a more stable and uniform programmed temperature control mode to extend the service life of insulation materials and ceramics; Install safety protection devices such as power outage protection, overload protection, and leakage fault protection in accordance with relevant electrical specifications; Automatic recording of temperature, pressure, alarm records, etc. is carried out for various locations. The RTO equipment temperature rise curve is controlled by programmed temperature rise, and the PLC automatic control system monitors the operating status of key equipment units, temperature and pressure at key points, and automatically records them to facilitate the evaluation of equipment operation.
